Template:Infobox Grand Prix motorcycle race report/doc

Introduction

This template is a formatted infobox, designed for use as part of every motorcycle Grand Prix race result page.

The template includes support for all classes that have raced since the inception of the championship in 1949. If a particular class didn't race then omit its fields and the template will hide the relevant section.

Notes

Country names

Country names and flag names should not be wikilinked.

Grand Prix name

For some races, the suffix Motorcycle Grand Prix may not be appropriate. Therefore, this template supports for various suffix. Add the GP_suffix field and enter the variant name (e.g. TT): <syntaxhighlight lang="wikitext"> | Grand_Prix = Dutch | GP_suffix = TT </syntaxhighlight>

Historical flags

For historical races, the current flag of a country may not be appropriate. Therefore, this template supports the flag variant feature. The list of available flag variants for each country is documented on the specific page for the country data template. For example, Template:Country data Italy includes a description of each of the available flag variations for Italy. Add the appropriate field from the selection below and enter the variant name (e.g. 1861):

Sidecars

In 1979, the FIM split the sidecar category in two. B2A was the category for classic sidecars and B2B was for prototype sidecars. This only lasted one season. If the parameters for the B2B category are present then the template will recognise this and denote the regular sidecar category as B2A, otherwise the regular category will just be denoted as "Sidecars".
